JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE Summary of the main purpose of the job as the basic function and scope of the job in terms of organization, geographic areas supported, financial or other volume/size metrics, strategic impact and nature of supervision received, or exercise related to the job in a descriptive manner The Machine Operator, B & P is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of blasting and painting equipment including blasting recovery machines, compressors, dehumidifiers, UHP&HP washing machines, and vacuum systems. The operator ensures equipment readiness, performs pre-checks, supports production activities, and maintains equipment performance in compliance with project standards, HSE policies, and quality requirements. Perform all related activities onboard, jobs, and other areas where related work is ongoing and ensure that works are carried out safely and on time, according to project contractual obligations. Machine Operator, B&P is responsible for following the B/P Superintendent for delivering the work safely, on time, to the client’s satisfaction and in accordance with the project contractual obligations and International Maritime Industries Management System (IMIMS). This role involves working closely with B/P Superintendent, Supervisors, Foremen. Ensures efficiency and proper housekeeping onboard.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Areas of Accountabilities (list up to 10 prime activities) (Describe concisely each principle’s work activity listed in logical order normally the list with include the most important duty first indicating important decision and recommendations made if applicable; start sentences with action verbs first)
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and servicing of machines to prevent breakdowns and ensure smooth operation.
- Coordinate with the Superintendent, Foreman, Supervisor and alert them of any defects, malfunctions, leaks, or abnormal equipment behaviour.
- Ensure proper abrasive recovery, collection, and disposal using vacuum recovery systems.
- Maintain good housekeeping around machines and work areas; ensure cables, hoses, and pipelines are properly arranged.
- Follow all HSE procedures including proper PPE usage, safe machine operation, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and confined space protocols.
- Record machine operating hours, maintenance activities, and consumption details as required by the project.
- Participate in toolbox talks, JSA, TRA, PTW systems, and follow instructions from supervisors.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the line manager
Education
- Secondary or High school education Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations)
- Equipment/Machine Operator training certificates (HP Washing machine, airless spray pump, vacuum recovery, compressor operation, etc.) preferred.
- Basic HSE, Confined Space, and Equipment Safety certifications are added advantages. Competency (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Ability to follow instructions as guided.
- Resilient under stress and capable of managing competing priorities.
- Problem solving
- Perform work experience of lifting and rigging related equipment and processes.
Experience
- 02–05 years’ experience operating industrial machines in blasting, painting, shipyard, construction, or heavy industry. Languages
• Basic English (read And write)
- Multilingual ability is an advantage
