About the role

Operational responsibilities

• Plan assigned activities and use equipment and tooling in accordance with Qatar Airways and customer procedures.
• Review work procedures and standards and propose improvements where processes are not appropriate.
• Provide final release of completed work and ensure tasks meet company and customer standards and reliability targets.
• Ensure aircraft maintenance tasks comply with established policies and procedures.
• Support internal and external customers.
• Implement technical solutions within authority and maintain aircraft and component serviceability standards.

Management and leadership

• Supervise mechanics and technical assistants and ensure tasks comply with procedures and objectives.
• Provide guidance and on-the-job training to technicians and aircraft mechanics.
• Set team objectives and priorities aligned with business objectives.
• Evaluate and revise team objectives, plans, and procedures when needed.
• Ensure staff follow published technical, safety, customer, and other applicable procedures.
• Allocate priorities and resources to meet schedules and planned check activities.
• Maintain acceptable workmanship and quality standards and ensure correct tools are used.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of four years of job-related experience.
• Diploma, trade or vocational qualification in aircraft maintenance, or degree in aircraft engineering such as B.Eng. or BSc, or equivalent.
• Minimum of one full Qatar Airways main-fleet ICAO/QCAA qualification or certification is required.
• Internal applicants require at least one year of aircraft certifying experience as EN.01.

• Ability to control equipment or system operations.
• Ability to delegate, manage workflow, mentor, coach, train, develop staff, and foster teamwork.
