Role Overview
- Responsible for leading the development, review, and coordination of legislative proposals related to the economic and tourism sectors.
- Ensures legislative alignment with local and federal strategies, best practices, and DET's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the drafting, development, and amendment of legislation, regulations, and executive decisions related to economic, commercial, and tourism activities.
- Manage the monitoring and ongoing assessment of DET and its corporations' compliance with regulatory frameworks and legislative requirements.
- Manage the drafting of proposals pertaining to the issuance of new legislation and policies related to the economy and tourism sectors.
- Manage the review and study of legislation proposed by governmental entities and provide commentary based on global trends.
- Provide expert legal and policy advice on legislative implications, risks, and opportunities.
- Manage coordination with other government departments to obtain legislative approvals.
