Dreevo is building a UAE service marketplace where customers can discover, book, and trust services.
The company is launching with automotive services before expanding into broader service categories.
Product, technology, operations, partnerships, brand, and commercial models are being developed in parallel at an early stage.
The Role
Become Dreevo's first dedicated in-house legal hire, reporting to the CEO and working with the Founder/Director and leadership team.
Own day-to-day corporate, commercial, and regulatory legal matters in a fast-moving environment.
Understand business objectives, identify legal and regulatory risks, recommend practical solutions, draft and negotiate agreements, and determine when external counsel is needed.
Corporate and Commercial Responsibilities
- Advise leadership on services, partnerships, operating models, investments, and strategic business decisions.
- Draft, review, and negotiate NDAs, MoUs, heads of terms, service agreements, supplier agreements, technology licences, SaaS/API agreements, development agreements, procurement terms, and partnership agreements.
- Develop marketplace provider terms covering service levels, data sharing, payments, insurance, liability, suspension, and termination.
- Support major automotive, energy, technology, and institutional partnerships.
Regulatory and Corporate Structuring
- Manage regulatory, licensing, permitting, and activity requirements associated with the marketplace and new service verticals.
- Coordinate with UAE and Dubai authorities, licensing bodies, regulators, and specialist advisers.
- Establish companies, subsidiaries, branches, business units, and operating entities as Dreevo expands.
- Advise on mainland and free zone structures, permitted activities, ownership, governance, liability separation, and corporate structuring.
- Coordinate company formation, licensing, constitutional documents, shareholder and director documentation, UBO filings, and other corporate requirements.
Technology, Privacy, and Intellectual Property
- Work with Product and Engineering on technology, software, data, privacy, and intellectual property matters.
- Protect ownership of source code, product concepts, designs, data models, algorithms, AI workflows, brand assets, and other intellectual property.
- Review SaaS, API, SDK, cloud, open source, and AI-related agreements and licensing terms.
- Support UAE PDPL compliance, privacy notices, data processing agreements, data retention, and cross-border data matters.
Employment, Disputes, and Legal Operations
- Draft customer terms, service terms, privacy notices, refund and cancellation policies, and marketplace disclosures.
- Advise on UAE employment matters and prepare employment, consultancy, contractor, NDA, IP assignment, and confidentiality documentation.
- Manage legal risk, disputes, claims, settlement discussions, and external counsel where required.
- Build contract templates, approval processes, signing authorities, contract registers, legal trackers, and governance records.
Required Experience
- Qualified lawyer in a recognised jurisdiction.
- Approximately 3–6+ years of post-qualification experience; exceptional candidates outside this range may also be considered.
- Strong UAE/GCC experience with exposure to corporate, commercial, employment, consumer, and regulatory matters.
- Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial and technology agreements through to signature.
- Experience working in-house, on secondment, or within a highly commercial law firm environment.
- Strong understanding of technology, software, data, intellectual property, and digital platform contracting.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams independently and prioritise according to commercial and legal risk.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly and commercially.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in startups, scale-ups, marketplaces, mobility, automotive, logistics, energy, fintech, ecommerce, or on-demand services is particularly valuable.
- Experience with marketplace agreements, SaaS/API/SDK licensing, data sharing, strategic partnerships, fundraising, corporate restructuring, investor due diligence, privacy, intellectual property, AI, or open source matters is advantageous.
- Arabic language capability is advantageous but not essential.
Working Style
