Key Responsibilities

• Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts related to EtihadWE’ s operations, including supply agreements, construction contracts, service agreements, and procurement contracts.
• Ensuring these contracts protects company's interests and comply with relevant regulations.
• Managing litigation and disputes involving EtihadWE, which may include disputes with customers, regulatory agencies, suppliers, or other stakeholders. This involves working with external counsel, developing litigation strategies, and representing the company’s interests in negotiations or court proceedings.
• Building and maintaining relationships with regulatory agencies, government officials, and industry associations. Advocating the company's interests in regulatory proceedings and policy discussions.
• Assisting with obtaining necessary permits, licenses, and regulatory approvals for infrastructure projects, environmental compliance, and operational activities.
• Participating in the development of company policies and procedures related to legal and regulatory compliance, customer relations, environmental compliance, and procurement processes.
• Providing legal training and education to employees on regulatory requirements, compliance obligations, contract management, and legal risks specific to the electricity and water sectors.
• Supporting mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures by conducting legal due diligence, advising on regulatory implications, and negotiating transaction documents.
• Contributing to the preparation and implementation of the annual operational plan for the Legal Department in accordance with EtihadWE’ s strategic plan.
• Contributing to the implementation of legal performance indicators.
• Ensure that employees carry out the required tasks in accordance with established legal procedures.
• Support in reviewing, improving and developing the procedures, processes and policies of the Legal department in accordance with the standards followed in EtihadWE.
• Work to present initiatives (digital or otherwise) that will contribute to developing the performance of the Legal department and support their implementation.
• Enhancing the concept of creativity and innovation among the team and motivating them to participate in submitting suggestions within the activities of the Legal department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Law and Master of Law is preferred.
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues, identify risks, and develop practical solutions.
• Strong knowledge and experience in energy law, utilities regulation, environmental law, and related areas specific to the electricity and water sectors are highly valuable.
