EPAM is seeking a Lead Software Engineer specializing in Java and Azure.
The role leads the design, development, and maintenance of backend systems and microservices on Azure.
The position drives delivery from design through release and focuses on API quality, performance, and Agile collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
- Own features end to end from idea to production rollout while ensuring scalability and performance.
- Participate in analysis, design, testing, release, code reviews, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
- Build and consume RESTful APIs and optimize API latency and database queries.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and collaborate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
Experience and Qualifications
- 8+ years of overall software development experience.
- 8+ years of professional full-stack development experience using Java with Spring Boot and Azure.
- Hands-on Java and Spring Framework experience with strong knowledge of APIs and microservices.
- Strong proficiency in Java 17, Spring Boot 3.1.2, Spring Framework 6.0.7, Hibernate, RESTful API design, and modular frontend architecture.
- Practical CI/CD experience using Azure Pipelines, Jenkins, and GitLab CI.
- Working knowledge of Azure cloud services including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, AKS, and Azure Functions.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across the stack.
- Ability to collaborate in Agile/Scrum teams with clear and effective communication.
- English proficiency at B2 level for communication and documentation.
