EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead Software Engineer specializing in Java and Spring Boot.
The role focuses on resilient, scalable backend platforms, cloud and Kubernetes solutions, security, reliability, and technical delivery leadership.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver enterprise-grade applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Architect and deploy microservices-based solutions on cloud platforms.
- Build RESTful APIs that connect backend services with frontend applications.
- Lead code reviews and mentor engineers through hands-on technical guidance.
- Drive architectural decisions for quality, security, reliability, and compliance.
- Apply Agile and DevOps practices across the software development lifecycle.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines and continuous delivery workflows.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across the full application stack.
- Deploy and operate services using containerization and orchestration tools.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience designing and developing with Java 21, Quarkus, and Java/JEE.
- Expert-level knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Security, and JUnit.
- Experience with Oracle, Sybase, PL/SQL, microservices, Azure Cloud, and serverless technologies.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes concepts including pods, containers, services, and Istio.
- Production experience with Docker and Redis.
- Strong RESTful API development and backend-to-frontend integration skills.
- Working knowledge of Git/GitLab CI/CD and Agile methodologies.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and React, including Hooks.
- Familiarity with JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Experience with performance tuning and DevOps practices.
- Ability to implement UX designs in responsive, scalable, maintainable user interfaces.
