Role Overview
Fitch Ratings is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for its Toronto Innovation teams.
The role focuses on building greenfield agentic systems, intelligent platforms, and production AI capabilities for financial analysis.
The successful candidate will shape technical direction in a highly visible innovation environment with organizational backing.
Responsibilities
- Build and architect net-new agentic systems and intelligent platforms using Java, Spring Boot, React, and emerging AI technologies.
- Lead exploration of generative AI, intelligent automation, agentic workflows, LLMs, and RAG architectures.
- Create proofs of concept and turn successful experiments into reliable production capabilities.
- Define technical vision, architecture, standards, and technology choices for AI-driven systems.
- Partner with product leaders and cross-functional teams to translate ambitious ideas into technical solutions.
- Mentor engineers and foster experimentation, learning, and calculated risk-taking.
- Implement CI/CD and solve novel challenges at the intersection of AI and production systems.
- Balance innovation velocity with engineering excellence, reliability, maintainability, and delivery.
- Help define how the innovation Tiger Team operates and balances exploration with delivery.
