Role Summary

The Lead Planning Engineer prepares work programs and monitors project progress against plans to support completion within the specified timeframe and allocated budgets.

The role supports interior fit-out and main contracting projects across multiple sectors.

Role Description

  • Prepare tender programs, clause 14 programs, resource histograms, and planning reviews.
  • Coordinate information among clients, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Support progress monitoring and variation reporting with the project management team.
  • Record progress, adjust forecasts, and report causes of program variations.
  • Prepare project reports based on review meetings, site visits, and progress reviews.
  • Prepare cash flows, S-curves, look-ahead schedules, dashboards, manpower projections, mitigation strategies, and forecast schedules.
  • Prepare information schedules for architects, engineers, nominations, and long-lead items.
  • Plan, monitor, and control project resources and costs.
  • Manage delay notifications, extension-of-time analysis, and contractual claims.
  • Highlight critical project risks, issues, and opportunities.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management.
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in an interior fit-out or main contracting company.
  • Strong proficiency in Primavera, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft applications.
  • Solid understanding of CPM, WBS, and construction planning methodologies.
  • Confident client-facing professional with strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and in-depth knowledge of construction processes and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in multicultural and multinational environments.
  • Track record across hospitality, hotels, high-end residential, palaces, food and beverage, retail, entertainment, health, and education projects.
  • Strong technical and commercial abilities.
  • Knowledge of current fit-out market developments and trends.

Project Environment

  • The role includes project progress reviews and site visits.
