About the Role
Eaton is seeking a Lead Embedded Hardware Engineer to join their Middle East Engineering Team in Dubai, UAE. The role involves executing the hardware technology roadmap for PLCs, low voltage switchgear, embedded systems, IoT products, and related industrial control solutions.

Responsibilities
- Define and execute the hardware technology roadmap for EMEA business covering lLSDPI and PMCC division, including PLCs, Low Voltage Switchgear, embedded systems, IoT products, suppressors, contactors, Emergency lighting, Intrusion systems, Fire panels and other control products
- Develop and align common hardware strategies in collaboration with Global Business Units, Product Management, and cross functional engineering teams
- Lead hardware engineering activities for new product introduction, new technology introduction, PCB modernization, value engineering, and sustaining engineering projects
- Drive adoption of emerging technologies related to PLC platforms, IoT enabled solutions, PCB design, manufacturing processes, and electronic hardware architectures
- Provide technical leadership for hardware design, architecture reviews, component selection, validation, and product lifecycle management activities
- Support ownership of P&P projects and serve as technical approver for hardware engineering deliverables
- Collaborate across Eaton businesses and engineering functions to ensure efficient execution and knowledge sharing
- Lead standardization and modernization of common hardware modules across multiple product platforms
- Drive component lifecycle and obsolescence management initiatives
- Develop and strengthen engineering ecosystem for PCB modernization and hardware technology transformation
- Identify, evaluate, and implement opportunities for technology advancement, product optimization, and cost reduction
- Promote innovation through development of new concepts, intellectual property generation, technical disclosures, and patent submissions
Requirements
- Masters/Bachelors in Electronics/Electronics and telecommunication
- 8+ Years of relevant experience
- Sound knowledge of Electronics Components (Active, Passive & custom parts) & their applications, PCB manufacturing and assembly
- Hands on experience of Product development life cycle on multiple projects including requirements, design, development, verification & validation, qualification & certification
- Hands on experience on CAM tools like CAM350, Gerber view, Valor etc.
- Understand and interpret PCB and PCBA requirements based on Gerbers, fabrication, assembly notes
- Knowledge of PCB material, Soldermask materials, PCB solder finish methods (ENIG, HASL, OSP etc), conformal coating, penalization, coupons, layer stackup, prepreg, core materials, Gerber files, fabrication drawings, drills, routes, tooling holes, fiducials, depanelization methodologies
- Sound knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly, reflow, wave and hand soldering methodologies
- Knowledge of EMI/C, rectifying problems and resolving challenges
- Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Good analytical skills, ability to work with global cross functional and cross cultural teams
