Job Description

  • Turner & Townsend is a global professional services company with over 22,000 people in more than 60 countries.
  • We are seeking an experienced and detail oriented Lead Cost Control Manager to join our organisation in Abu Dhabi.
  • The role oversees cost estimation, cost control, and financial management activities for projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage detailed cost estimates for projects from feasibility through to tendering.
  • Prepare comprehensive estimate reports, cost reports, procurement reports, and tender reports.
  • Present cost related information and commercial strategies confidently to clients and stakeholders.
  • Oversee cost control processes and implement cost management strategies to optimise project profitability.
  • Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets and manage interim payment processing.
  • Analyse project costs, identify variances, and prepare comprehensive cost forecasts and commercial reports.
  • Lead and mentor the cost management team, providing guidance on estimation techniques and best practices.
  • Conduct contract cost analysis and review contractual terms to identify cost implications and savings potential.
  • Manage cost management software systems and maintain professional standards in documentation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, procurement teams, and other departments to ensure cost objectives are met.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years' professional experience in cost estimation, cost control, or project cost management.
  • Professional accreditation such as MRICS, AIQS, or equivalent.
  • Expertise in cost analysis, budget forecasting, variance analysis, and financial interpretation.
  • Advanced knowledge of cost estimation methodologies and cost control techniques.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience in large scale construction or engineering project environments.
  • Knowledge of project finance management and risk assessment in cost control.
  • Project management certification or relevant professional credentials.
  • Prior UAE construction industry experience.
