- Facilitate identification, assessment and prioritization of threats, opportunities and issues
- Maintain visibility of threat/opportunity trigger points for risk cost profiling and timely drawdown of risk budget
- Use risk data to inform investment planning
- Assist with identification and recording of appropriate management responses and assess post mitigated positions
- Monitor overall risk exposure and assess against remaining risk budget
- Proactively manage completion of management responses
- Work with contractors to assess contractor held risks and their views on client held risks
- Produce risk reports in a timely manner to support effective communication of threat and opportunity status
- Conduct quantitative risk assessment (cost and schedule) to inform project contingency levels
Requirements
- Experience in risk management within large scale projects
- Ability to facilitate risk identification and assessment workshops
- Proficiency in quantitative risk assessment (cost and schedule)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Role Overview
- The Risk Engineer will interface with multiple levels and dimensions of the project team across Engineering, Delivery etc., providing advice, direction, and assurance relative to risk processes.
- Maintains close working relationship with other Function Managers, Project Controls Managers, Finance team personnel, and Project Management, Procurement and Commercial functions.
- May represent the project with key stakeholders including contract partners, regulators, auditors, and investors.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate identification, assessment and prioritization of threats, opportunities and issues.
- Maintain visibility of threat / opportunity trigger points to facilitate risk cost profiling, timely drawdown of risk budget or retirement of threat / opportunity.
- Use risk data to inform investment planning.
- Assist with the identification and recording of appropriate management responses which are measurable and specific, along with assessing the post mitigated positions.
- Monitor overall risk exposure and assess against the remaining Risk budget.
- Proactively manage the completion of management responses.
- Work with contractors to assess contractor held risks and their views on client held risks that impact upon them.
- Produce risk reports as required, in a timely manner, to support the effective communication of threat & opportunity status.
- Conduct quantitative risk assessment (cost and schedule) to inform project contingency levels.
