About the Role
Lamprell is seeking a Lead Cost Engineer to oversee the cost function and CRM supporting team, ensuring all commercial project activities comply with company policies. You will manage cost deliverables, lead a team, and liaise with engineering, procurement, and construction functions.

Responsibilities
- Accountable for overall quality and timely delivery of the cost function deliverables and leadership of the cost team members
- Prepare a budget breakdown from the PED based on the tasks and allocation, review it with the Projects Team and upload it in the Compass
- Ensure maintenance of the Oracle systems
- Ensure invoicing is initiated as per contract milestones or agreed payments terms with all relevant support documentation
- Responsible for maintaining the project cashflow with the project manager and submission to finance as required
- Responsible for estimating and assessing the cost impact of any change, Monitor the actuals of all project changes
- Responsible for the management of the members of the Cost Team
- Compile contract cost report across the full portfolio
- Liaise with engineering, procurement and construction functions, and others as required
- Facilitate / chair internal project cost performance meetings as required
- Facilitate / lead / manage the project cost close out process and ensure project balance sheet is clear
- Prepare and attend monthly project review meetings and lead presentation of projects commercial slides to senior management
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience preferable in major oil and gas projects
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Lead Cost Engineer capacity
- Degree qualification in quantity surveying, engineering or similar
- Advanced Excel skills in addition to experience using cost estimation and risk analysis software
- Must have thorough understanding of project execution process and can interpret contract terms, conditions and specifications
- Must be familiar with total cost management techniques and cost engineering

Overall Purpose of Role
- The Lead Cost Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the cost function and CRM supporting team ensuring that all Commercial project related activities are carried out in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures.
Primary Responsibilities, Authorities & Accountabilities
- Accountable for overall quality and timely delivery of the cost function deliverables and leadership of the cost team members;
- Responsible for personal safety and working within the provisions and guidelines of the HSEQ processes;
- Facilitate and ensure effective communication between the cost function and key stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with Cost Function processes, and regular review of same to ensure fit for purpose, and simple solutions are in effect;
- Prepare a budget breakdown from the PED based on the tasks and allocation, review it with the Projects Team and upload it in the Compass.
- Ensure maintenance of the Oracle systems;
- Ensure invoicing is initiated as per contract milestones or agreed payments terms with all relevant support documentation. Support to finance on follow up for payments from the client.
- Responsible for maintaining the project cashflow with the project manager and submission to finance as required highlight any major deviation/variance from the initial project cash profile.
- Responsible for estimating and assessing the cost impact of any change, Monitor the actuals of all project changes.
- Responsible for the management of the members of the Cost Team; health and welfare, performance objectives through My Success Plan, Competency Assessments, Probation Period completion, and absence management;
- Compile contract cost report across the full portfolio; in terms of but not limited to VOWD, Forecast to Go, Estimate at Completion, Variance Analysis and meaningful variance/movement commentary and cash position;
- Liaise with engineering, procurement and construction functions, and others as required, to maintain awareness of project activities and their impact on the project budget, and phased cost forecast;
Role Specific Competencies
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience preferable in major oil and gas projects
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Lead Cost Engineer capacity
- Educational Level: Degree qualification in quantity surveying, engineering or similar
- Advanced Excel skills in addition to experience using cost estimation and risk analysis software
