About the Role

Responsibilities
- Provide lactation consultation and breastfeeding support to inpatients and outpatients
- Assess and manage complex breastfeeding challenges
- Educate mothers and families on feeding techniques and newborn nutrition
- Support NICU/PICU mothers with milk expression and feeding plans
- Collaborate with midwives, nurses, neonatologists, and OB teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Midwifery, or related healthcare field
- Valid DOH license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Minimum 2+ years post qualification experience in Maternity, Postpartum, or NICU settings
- Completion of at least 95 hours of Lactation Specialist education/training, IBCLC
- Strong knowledge of evidence based breastfeeding practices and maternal newborn care
- Understanding of WHO/UNICEF Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) recommendations
- Excellent communication, counseling, and patient education skills
- Compassionate and culturally sensitive approach to patient care
