Laboratory Support Assistant (Bacteriology Department)

About the Role

Workplace and Employment

• The role is full-time in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Laboratory Operations

• Prepare culture plates and liquid media aliquots.
• Calculate and accurately weigh agar powders and dispense the correct amount of water into prepared media.
• Operate autoclaves in accordance with laboratory procedures.
• Clean and sterilize laboratory glassware.
• Perform weekly and monthly cleaning of water baths, incubators, and deep freezers.
• Remove and dispose of laboratory biological and general waste properly.

Weekend Duties

• Participate in weekend duty rosters.
• Receive carcasses and assist with post-mortem activities.
• Clean the post-mortem room.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper laboratory practices at all times.

Qualifications and Skills

• Good attention to detail when measuring, weighing, and preparing laboratory media.
• Ability to follow laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
• Willingness to perform routine cleaning, sterilization, and waste-management duties.
• Ability to work as part of a laboratory team.
• Willingness to participate in weekend duty rotations.
• Good organizational skills and a responsible approach to laboratory work.
• Any related diploma in laboratory studies.

Experience

• No prior experience is required.
• The role is suitable for candidates seeking practical laboratory skills and hands-on experience in a professional laboratory environment.

Pay and Benefits

• Pay is AED 1,400 to AED 1,700 per month.
• Accommodation is provided.
