About the Role
CVRL is seeking a Laboratory Assistant in Bacteriology to support daily laboratory operations, media preparation, sterilization, housekeeping, and technical duties.
The assistant will work with the laboratory team to maintain procedures, equipment, materials, and work areas.
Location and Schedule
- The position is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
- The role is full-time and performed in person.
- Weekend duty rotations are included.
Laboratory Operations
- Prepare culture plates and liquid media aliquots.
- Calculate and accurately weigh agar powders and add the correct amount of water to prepared media.
- Operate autoclaves according to laboratory procedures.
- Clean and sterilize laboratory glassware.
- Clean water baths, incubators, and deep freezers on weekly and monthly schedules.
- Remove and dispose of biological and general laboratory waste properly.
Weekend Duties and Housekeeping
- Participate in weekend duty rosters, including receiving carcasses and assisting with post-mortem activities.
