Position Overview
The Kitchen and Laundry Technician works within the resort Engineering department in Dubai.
The role maintains commercial kitchen, laundry, and related technical equipment to support hotel operations.
Kitchen Equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair ovens, combi ovens, fryers, grills, cooking ranges, dishwashers, and related commercial kitchen equipment.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance and respond to breakdowns to minimize operational downtime.
Laundry Equipment
- Maintain and troubleshoot industrial washing machines, dryers, ironing or pressing machines, and associated laundry equipment.
- Inspect and maintain electrical, mechanical, gas/LPG, steam, and refrigeration systems connected with kitchen and laundry equipment.
Inspections and Records
- Conduct regular inspections and identify potential faults before equipment breakdowns occur.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, and preventive maintenance schedules using CMMS, BMS, or similar systems.
Safety and Coordination
- Follow health, safety, hygiene, and HACCP requirements applicable to hotel operations.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, technical drawings, and electrical or mechanical schematics.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Culinary, Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, and Laundry teams.
- Keep tools and work areas clean, safe, and organized.
Qualifications and Experience
- Technical diploma or certification in Mechanical, Electrical, Refrigeration Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in kitchen and laundry equipment maintenance.
- Previous luxury hotel or resort experience is highly preferred.
Required Skills
- In-depth knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with laundry equipment and industrial machinery.
- Familiarity with HACCP standards and kitchen hygiene protocols.
- Basic computer literacy and experience with CMMS or BMS maintenance systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work proactively, reliably, and with minimal supervision.
Work Schedule
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
