The Kitchen & Laundry Technician works in the Engineering department at Radisson Beach Resort Palm Jumeirah in Dubai.
The role maintains commercial kitchen and industrial laundry equipment and supports reliable hotel operations.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of commercial kitchen and laundry equipment.
- Troubleshoot ovens, combi ovens, fryers, grills, cooking ranges, dishwashers, and related equipment.
- Maintain industrial washing machines, dryers, ironing or pressing machines, and associated laundry equipment.
- Inspect electrical, mechanical, gas/LPG, steam, and refrigeration systems.
- Respond to breakdowns, minimise downtime, and identify faults through regular inspections.
- Maintain service reports, maintenance records, and preventive schedules using CMMS/BMS or similar systems.
- Follow health, safety, hygiene, and HACCP requirements.
- Read equipment manuals, technical drawings, and electrical or mechanical schematics.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Culinary, Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, and Laundry teams.
- Keep tools and work areas clean, safe, and organised.
- Assist with other Engineering team technical duties as required.
Qualifications and experience
- Technical diploma or certification in Mechanical, Electrical, Refrigeration Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of relevant kitchen and laundry equipment maintenance experience.
- Previous luxury hotel or resort experience is highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with laundry equipment and industrial machinery.
- Familiarity with HACCP standards and kitchen hygiene protocols.
- Basic computer literacy and experience using CMMS/BMS maintenance systems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work proactively, reliably, and with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Work setting
- The position is based at a beach resort and involves hands-on maintenance of physical kitchen, laundry, electrical, mechanical, gas, steam, and refrigeration equipment.
