Position Overview
Radisson Beach Resort Palm Jumeirah is seeking a Chief Accountant for its Finance and Accounting department.
The role oversees hotel accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, month-end closing, and UAE compliance.
The position requires hotel accounting experience and knowledge of Opera PMS, POS systems, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, General Ledger, Cost Control, and financial reporting.
General Accounting
- Manage and supervise daily hotel accounting activities and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Review journal entries, accruals, provisions, prepayments, adjustments, General Ledger balances, trial balances, and account coding.
Closing and Revenue Audit
- Lead monthly financial closing and support annual budgeting, forecasting, year-end closing, and reporting.
- Review daily revenue from rooms, food and beverage, banquets, events, and other operating departments.
- Review Opera PMS and POS reports, reconcile revenue and payment transactions, and investigate discrepancies.
Receivables and Payables
- Supervise Accounts Receivable, monitor credit accounts and ageing, and follow up on overdue balances.
- Review supplier invoices, payment requests, payment runs, supplier balances, ageing, and statement reconciliations.
Reporting and Planning
- Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, departmental revenue and expense analysis, and variance explanations.
- Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts and recommend actions to improve financial performance and cost efficiency.
Compliance and Audit
- Prepare bank and balance sheet reconciliations and investigate outstanding or unusual items.
- Ensure compliance with UAE VAT, statutory accounting, hotel policies, and corporate finance standards.
- Maintain internal controls, coordinate audits, prepare audit schedules, and follow up on audit observations and corrective actions.
Key Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5–8 or more years of accounting experience, preferably in a hotel or resort environment.
- At least 3 years of UAE hospitality or hotel accounting experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of hotel accounting operations, General Ledger, Income Audit, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliation, and closing.
- Good knowledge of UAE VAT and statutory requirements.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and strict reporting deadlines.
- Opera PMS and hotel POS experience is highly desirable.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is required.
