Overview
- The Center for Sand Hazards and Opportunities in Resilience, Energy, and Sustainability (SHORES) and the Division of Engineering (Civil & Urban Engineering) seeks to recruit a Junior Research Scientist to work on a broader field of geotechnical engineering.
Required Qualifications
- A successful applicant must have a B.S. in Civil/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with any level of experience, or a Master’s degree and less than 5 years of research experience in the relevant field.
The Researcher Will Be Expected To
- Assist in design, implementation, and analysis of centrifuge experiments.
- Integrate findings with numerical models for validation and deeper interpretation.
- Assist in development of innovative experimental apparatus (SolidWorks proficiency is a plus).
- Disseminate results through high quality publications in reputable journals.
- Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team of faculty, postdocs, and students.
