Position Overview
- The Center for Translational Medical Devices (CENTMED) at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a Junior Research Scientist to join this new initiative, which focuses on designing and developing novel medical devices for ultimate human use.
- The successful applicant will join a project to develop a glaucoma implant.
- This project entails computational modeling, implant design and manufacturing, optimization, and preclinical experiments using an animal model.
- The candidate will be working closely with a team of ophthalmologists.
Qualifications
- Applicants must have a BS in an engineering or biomedical related discipline, with an experience in a laboratory setting, and an ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team; with strong organization, communication, problem solving and time management skills.
- High proficiency in English is required.
- Excellent computational modeling skills using ANSYS and COMSOL are strongly preferred.
