Junior Accountant

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with accounting activities and maintain books of accounts for multiple group entities.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing and prepare financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Perform bank, supplier, customer, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Process accounts payable and receivable activities, invoice bookings, payment follow-ups, journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
• Maintain fixed asset records and assist with fixed asset accounting.
• Assist with UAE VAT returns and statutory compliance.
• Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
• Assist with budgets and variance analysis under supervision.
• Maintain complete financial records and support payroll-related accounting entries.
• Coordinate routine finance matters with banks, suppliers, and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
• One to three years of accounting experience.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Basic knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and exposure to month-end closing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, and data entry.
• Part-qualified or pursuing CA, ACCA, CMA, or an equivalent qualification is an added advantage.
• Exposure to multiple legal entities is a plus; trading, manufacturing, or contracting experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Tally, Zoho Books, Odoo, or similar systems is an advantage.
• Good analytical, organisational, communication, time-management, and detail-oriented skills.
• English communication is required; additional languages are an advantage.
• Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines under supervision.
