Role overview
This contract role develops and maintains enterprise backend applications and services.
The work includes database migration, integrations, containerization, cloud-native modernization, production support, and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using Java 17 or Java 11.
- Build scalable backend services using Core Java, object-oriented programming, frameworks, and enterprise practices.
- Develop and tune PostgreSQL schemas, queries, stored procedures, and database performance.
- Migrate Oracle and other legacy databases to PostgreSQL with data validation and performance optimization.
- Develop and troubleshoot SOAP, WSDL-based, and REST integrations.
- Support Kubernetes applications and manage Docker containers and deployments.
- Automate build, testing, deployment, and release processes using Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor applications, resolve production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.
- Collaborate across architecture, DevOps, database, QA, and business teams and maintain technical documentation.
Technical skills
- The role requires Java, Core Java, object-oriented programming, Java frameworks, and enterprise application development.
- Required technologies include PostgreSQL, Oracle migration, SOAP, WSDL, REST APIs, Kubernetes, Docker, Git, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
