Position Summary

  • The IT Infrastructure & Support Engineer is responsible for the end to end management of the company's IT environment in the UAE.
  • The role combines end user support, infrastructure administration, enterprise networking, cloud collaboration tools, hardware lifecycle management, software licensing, office technology, and local IT projects.
  • Acting as the primary IT owner for the Dubai office, the successful candidate will ensure the reliability, security, and continuous improvement of all technology supporting approximately 100 employees while collaborating closely with BI Group Headquarters IT and external technology partners.

IT Operations & User Support

  • Provide first and second line IT support for all employees.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system, and network issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows and macOS workstations.
  • Set up new employee workstations, laptops, monitors, peripherals, and mobile devices.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding from an IT perspective.
  • Resolve incidents promptly while maintaining high service levels.
  • Provide remote and on site technical support when required.

Infrastructure & Network Management

  • Maintain, monitor, and continuously improve the office network infrastructure.
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, VPN connectivity, enterprise Wi Fi, and mesh Wi Fi networks.
  • Ensure stable, secure, and high performance internet connectivity throughout the office.
  • Maintain local servers, NAS storage, and shared resources.
  • Support and perform basic administration of Access Control Systems.
  • Support Etisalat Corporate Internet (CIP) services, including basic VoIP, SIP telephony, routing, and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate with internet service providers and infrastructure vendors.
  • Assist Headquarters IT in implementing global infrastructure standards and security policies.

Hardware & Equipment Management

  • Take ownership of all company IT equipment, including laptops, desktops, workstations, monitors, TVs, meeting room equipment, video conferencing systems, printers, mobile devices, network equipment, and accessories.
  • Responsibilities include procurement recommendations, installation, preventive maintenance, repairs, warranty management, replacement planning, asset lifecycle management, and hardware diagnostics.

IT Asset & License Management

  • Maintain accurate records of all IT assets, including hardware inventory, software inventory, serial numbers, asset assignments, warranty periods, purchase history, and lifecycle status.
  • Manage software licensing by tracking renewals, monitoring compliance, managing subscriptions, optimizing utilization, and preventing expired licenses.

Systems Administration & Business Applications

  • Install, configure, maintain, and support business applications across the organization.
  • Manage Microsoft 365 administration, including user accounts, permissions, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, and collaboration services.
  • Support cloud based business applications including Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Autodesk products, and other SaaS platforms.
  • Assist with Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) administration.
  • Perform software deployment, updates, security patching, and application lifecycle management.
  • Maintain backup procedures in coordination with Headquarters IT.

Office Technology Management

  • Ensure all office technology functions reliably, including conference room AV systems, meeting room displays, presentation equipment, video conferencing systems, smart TVs, and wireless presentation tools.
  • Provide technical support during important meetings when required.

Vendor & Headquarters Coordination

  • Act as the primary point of contact for local IT vendors.
  • Coordinate hardware repairs and maintenance.
  • Manage relationships with software providers and service partners.
  • Collaborate closely with BI Group Headquarters IT on infrastructure projects, security initiatives, global standards, system implementations, IT policies, and technology rollouts.

Security & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with corporate IT policies.
  • Support endpoint security implementation.
  • Monitor antivirus and endpoint protection.
  • Assist with access management.
  • Maintain secure device configuration.
  • Support cybersecurity awareness initiatives.
  • Ensure proper handling of confidential company information.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve IT processes and user experience.
  • Recommend technology upgrades and automation initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain IT documentation, procedures, and user guides.
  • Participate in office expansion and infrastructure projects.
