Role Summary

• We are hiring a technically grounded AI Industry Analyst with strong exposure to unquoted / private deep-tech sectors and working knowledge of how public markets price similar themes.
• This role sits at the intersection of:
• AI-enabled research workflows (how the work is done)
• Deep technical-commercial underwriting across AI and 4IR sectors (what is covered)

What You Will Cover (Investment Universe)

• AI-native companies (models, agents, infrastructure)
• AI-enabling ecosystems (compute, deployment, tooling, data layers)
• Applied AI across industrials, healthcare, fintech, logistics, automation
• Robotics, cybersecurity, and deep-tech adjacent sectors
• Private/unquoted opportunities with translation to public market comparables

How You Will Work (Ai-Enabled Research Methods)

• Use structured AI and automated workflows to accelerate research synthesis
• Validate and fact-check outputs rigorously
• Build repeatable diligence frameworks and monitoring dashboards
• Translate technical complexity into economic defensibility

Ai Tooling & Workflow Fluency (Day-To-Day Expectation)

• Run AI-assisted research loops: ingest → synthesize → validate → extract signals → publish decision outputs
• Use LLMs/agentic workflows to accelerate: ecosystem mapping, competitor tracking, diligence triangulation, and hypothesis testing
• Maintain a clean “audit trail” on outputs: sources, assumptions, validation steps, confidence levels
• Continuously improve internal research efficiency through reusable templates, structured notes, trackers, and automated monitoring

Technical & Commercial Underwriting

• Evaluate scalability, inference costs, deployment economics
• Analyze business models, moats, capital intensity, adoption friction
• Distinguish hype from durable economic advantage
• Assist the AI tech solutions team with developing a platform to enable this role
• Support ongoing portfolio analysis through AI-enabled monitoring, thesis drift detection, and risk flagging

Private-To-Public Mapping

• Assess unquoted AI opportunities
• Identify valuation disconnects in public comparables
• Map ecosystem value chains

Monitoring & Intelligence

• Track regulatory, partnership, and talent shifts
• Deliver concise investment memos
• Surface differentiated theses
• Improve monitoring dashboards and strategic signal extraction (alerts, watchlists, catalyst calendars, risk registers)

Required

• 7–15 years in tech investing, AI-focused research, deep-tech VC, or AI product/strategy with commercial exposure
• Strong modeling and memo-writing capability
• Fluent in AI-enabled research tools and structured workflows (daily usage; not theoretical)
• Comfortable defending conclusions before senior stakeholders
• Must be able to leverage AI to maximize quality, speed, and scope of global coverage

What Success Looks Like (First 6 Months)

• 3–5 differentiated, non-consensus insights
• Clear mapping of private AI value chains
• Strong technical-commercial clarity in IC discussions
• Improved research speed without loss of rigor
• Monitoring dashboards and intelligence loops that materially improve signal quality and decision cadence
