Role Overview

  • We are hiring a finance operations assistant whose primary responsibility is to own reconciliations and core finance operations support.
  • The role focuses on keeping cashflows, accounts, and records clean and up to date, while working closely with the Founder and external accountants in a modern, technology enabled environment.

Key Finance Responsibilities

  • Perform regular bank, card, and petty cash reconciliations across multiple accounts, entities, and currencies.
  • Match and reconcile transactions between bank statements, accounting records, internal trackers, and platform exports (Excel/Google Sheets).
  • Maintain and update cashflow trackers, payment calendars, and simple dashboards for the firm.
  • Support month‑end routines: preparing reconciliation files, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and chasing missing documentation.
  • Track accounts payable and receivable (vendors, service providers, rental income, etc.) and ensure timely recording and follow‑up.
  • Organise and digitise financial documents (contracts, invoices, receipts, statements) in a structured, searchable filing system.
  • Prepare clear reports and tables showing reconciled balances, outstanding items, and upcoming cash requirements.
  • Liaise with external accountants/bookkeepers to provide reconciled data and well‑organised supporting schedules.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and data‑cleaning tasks for investment and real estate projects.
  • Assist with building and maintaining internal trackers for investments, properties, and operational metrics.
  • Contribute to process improvement by suggesting ways to automate or simplify repetitive finance tasks.

Tech & AI Expectations

  • Use large language models (LLMs) as a work tool: drafting emails, summarising contracts, generating checklists, and explaining reconciliation exceptions.
  • Use LLMs to assist with data tasks: converting messy exports into structured tables, suggesting spreadsheet formulas, and generating first‑draft exception lists.
  • Daily comfort with modern collaboration tools such as Slack.
  • Familiarity with workflow/task tools (e.g. Airtable, Trello/Asana, or similar) for tracking reconciliation cycles.
  • Comfortable in a cloud‑first environment (Google Workspace or Microsoft 365).
  • Curious and proactive about using AI/automation to reduce manual steps in finance processes.

Requirements

  • Based in, or willing to relocate to, Dubai; primarily office‑based.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a finance/accounts assistant or similar role with strong reconciliation responsibilities.
  • Solid understanding of reconciliations (bank vs ledger, statement vs internal tracker) and high comfort with numbers.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and a methodical, organised working style.
  • Strong English communication skills and ability to work independently while coordinating with distributed teams.
  • High integrity and reliability – you take ownership of keeping records accurate and closing open items.

Compensation

  • Base salary: AED 10,000 per month, depending on experience.
  • Potential discretionary performance bonus based on individual and firm outcomes.
  • Exposure to AI‑driven finance operations and modern investment workflows.
