Role Overview
The Interior Draftsman creates detailed and accurate drawings and plans for interior design projects.
The role combines technical drafting, creativity, and knowledge of design principles to produce functional and buildable interior plans.
Drawing and Design Creation
- Prepare floor plans, elevations, sections, construction details, furniture layouts, fixture placements, lighting plans, and material specifications.
- Translate concepts and sketches from interior designers or architects into accurate, scaled drawings.
- Ensure plans comply with building codes, regulations, and standards.
Collaboration
- Work with interior designers, architects, and project managers to understand design concepts and project requirements.
- Incorporate feedback and modifications and resolve design or construction issues.
3D Visualization and Modeling
- Use CAD and other design tools to create 3D models and visualizations of interior spaces.
- Assist with presenting design concepts through visual aids, presentations, or renderings.
