Role Overview

Lead instrumentation and automation engineering activities for Solar PV Power Plants.

Support the full work cycle from pre-bid engineering through commissioning and warranty periods.

Lead design engineers and draughtspeople while managing delivery within budget, schedule, and quality requirements.

Core Responsibilities

  • Review and execute instrumentation and automation engineering activities.
  • Facilitate BIM 3D model development for PV Solar Power Plants.
  • Coordinate interdepartmental checks with civil, structural, electrical, MEP, and other teams.
  • Review drawings, design calculations, equipment sizing, and vendor deliverables.
  • Plan manpower requirements and manage multiple engineering deliverables.
  • Review BOQs and provide technical clarifications to the contracts team.

Site and Project Support

  • Provide engineering support and clarifications to the site execution team.
  • Clarify design and client requirement issues for site execution.
  • Support engineering work through commissioning and warranty periods.
  • Collect project inputs from clients and the Project Engineering Manager.

Vendor and Operations Coordination

  • Evaluate vendors against client technical specifications.
  • Inspect equipment from finalized vendors after vendor validation.
  • Coordinate with operations teams and communicate design specifications for approval.
  • Collect general arrangement drawing inputs from vendors.

Qualification and Experience

  • BE in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering or Instrumentation and Control Engineering, or M.Tech in Instrumentation or Automation.
  • 10–15 years of experience in Solar PV Power Plant or Power Distribution Project design.

Technical Expertise

  • Knowledge of equipment layouts and necessary calculations.
  • Expertise in PLC/SCADA, met station, cable selection, telecom, CCTV, access control, and system integration.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols, tracker control systems, and electrical and mechanical equipment.

Software Skills

  • General awareness of SCADA programming software is preferable.
  • MS Office knowledge is required.
