Engineering Manager - Electrical BESS

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, assign, and prioritize work to meet specifications and project schedules.
• Coordinate remote engineering offices, local consultants, authorities, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Review engineering documents, designs, calculations, drawings, and technical submissions for approval.
• Provide field engineering support to construction and commissioning teams.
• Review non-conformance and concession reports and support resolution of critical design issues.
• Coordinate with project planning to align engineering deliveries with project schedules.
• Identify variation scope, prepare supporting documentation, and obtain client approval.
• Support procurement, vendor engineering, BOQs, pre-bid reviews, technical submissions, and manufacturing clearance.
• Lead Design Leads, Design Engineers, and Draughtspersons while optimizing resources and productivity.
• Ensure BIM implementation in projects.

Software Skills

• General awareness of MS Office is required.
• Awareness of Digi Silent, PSCAD, CYMGRD, and project planning tools is desirable.

Technical Expertise

• Expertise in primary and secondary engineering for substation projects is required.
• Thorough understanding of GIS/AIS substation design up to 500 kV is required.
• Proficiency is required in selecting power transformers, reactors, circuit breakers, disconnectors, and instrument transformers.
• Knowledge is required of earthing, lighting, lightning protection, cabling, civil and MEP interfaces, instrumentation, SCADA, and control systems.
• Experience in PV or BESS plant engineering and AIS substations is preferable.

Qualification and Experience

• B.E. or B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• 8-15 years of experience, predominantly in PV plants, BESS plants, or substations with leading contractors.
• Proven experience in utility-scale Solar PV and/or BESS EPC projects.
