Responsibilities
- Work with co location partners to design cage, rack and server layouts and ensure provision of space, power and cooling.
- Work with engineering/architecture teams to design solutions for performance, efficiency and operability.
- Lead and/or participate in provisioning and deployment of server, network and hosting equipment.
- Participate in deployment of new applications and changes, ensuring documentation and monitoring.
- Perform hardware qualification testing on new hardware platforms.
- Assist with troubleshooting of integration issues.
- Support deployment of TrakCare build/releases/patches.
- Consult with technical stakeholders on delivery of hosted solutions.
- Hands on administration and maintenance of hosted solutions and infrastructure.
- Participate in definition, documentation, operation and improvement of operational processes.
- Define, implement, monitor and report on metrics for highly available hosted services.
- Provide technical support including participation in 24x7 on call rota.
Requirements
- Strong hands on experience with server hosting infrastructure and Cisco UCS blades
- Hands on storage/SAN deployment and management experience with EMC Unity, Data Domain, Avamar
- Hands on Cisco and F5 networking deployment and management experience
- Hands on VMware deployment and management experience
- Hands on Linux deployment and management experience with RHEL
- Hands on Windows domain and AD management experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Strong scripting skills
- Knowledge of service monitoring and alerting (Nagios, Cacti preferred)
- Knowledge of configuration management (Puppet and/or Red Hat Satellite preferred)
- Scripting for automation using technologies (e.g. Powershell, Puppet, Ansible, Python)
- ITIL knowledge
