Role Overview

The Import Coordinator will join the Supply Chain team and report to the Head of Transport.

The role coordinates end-to-end inbound international freight from overseas suppliers through to distribution-centre receipt.

The position supports product availability, import compliance, supply-chain visibility and cost-effective delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the import order book from purchase order confirmation through distribution-centre receipt.
  • Coordinate sea, air and consolidated freight bookings while optimising transport costs.
  • Prepare and verify import documentation for customs, biosecurity and regulatory compliance.
  • Work with customs brokers, freight forwarders, suppliers and government agencies to clear and deliver shipments.
  • Manage delays, documentation issues and supply risks, including corrective actions and stakeholder communication.
  • Maintain landed costs and reconcile freight, duty and brokerage invoices for accurate inventory valuation.
  • Monitor inbound supply-chain performance and support continuous improvement in lead times, visibility, compliance and efficiency.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience in imports, international freight forwarding, customs or inbound supply chain operations is required.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, FMCG, retail or related industries is highly regarded.
  • Strong knowledge of import logistics, customs processes, Incoterms and international freight operations is required.
  • Experience managing multiple shipments and stakeholders with accuracy and attention to detail is required.
  • Experience with freight forwarders, customs brokers and overseas suppliers is required.
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation and problem-solving capabilities are required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ERP or freight management system experience are required.
  • A tertiary qualification or diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade or Business is desirable.
