Role overview
Coordinates the end-to-end movement of inbound international freight from overseas suppliers through distribution centre receipt.
Supports product availability, import compliance, cost accuracy, and visibility across the inbound supply chain.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the import order book from purchase order confirmation through distribution centre receipt.
- Coordinate sea, air, and consolidated freight bookings while optimising cost.
- Prepare and verify import documentation for customs, biosecurity, and regulatory compliance.
- Work with customs brokers, freight forwarders, suppliers, and government agencies to facilitate clearance and delivery.
- Manage shipment delays, documentation issues, and supply risks, communicating impacts to stakeholders.
- Maintain landed cost information and reconcile freight, duty, and brokerage invoices.
- Monitor inbound supply chain performance and support improvement in lead times, visibility, compliance, and efficiency.
What you will bring
- Proven experience in imports, international freight forwarding, customs, or inbound supply chain operations.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, FMCG, retail, or related industries is highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge of import logistics, customs processes, Incoterms, and international freight operations.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and stakeholders with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and overseas suppliers.
- Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP or freight management systems such as SAP.
- A tertiary qualification or diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade, or Business is desirable.
