Role overview
Lead the HR function for a healthcare-focused nonprofit organization with more than 200 employees.
Report directly to the CEO and supervise one HR Coordinator.
The workforce includes mostly unionized permanent and casual frontline healthcare staff, while corporate and management staff are exempt.
Responsibilities
- Manage labour relations, employee relations, investigations, HR reporting, and HR policy creation and management.
- Manage health, safety, wellness, talent acquisition, retention, succession planning, learning and development, and performance management.
- Coach leaders, optimize the HRIS, and mitigate HR and labour-relations risks.
- Work with several collective agreements across the organization.
Qualifications
- At least 6 years of relevant and progressive human resources experience, including several years in management.
- Labour relations experience supporting a unionized workforce is required.
- Experience with a mid-size nonprofit organization is likely required.
- Relevant post-secondary education is required, and a CPHR designation is preferred.
- Microsoft Office proficiency and HRIS experience are required.
- Health-sector experience is highly preferred but not required.
