About the Role

Responsibilities
- Manage process governance across the wider HR function by monitoring and assessing processes, identifying inefficiencies, and recommending innovative solutions
- Define and implement the One HR process and data governance strategy in alignment with Emirates Group governance and compliance requirements
- Manage data governance activities in partnership with ED&A and a network of Data Custodians and Data Stewards across One HR
- Manage data risk and compliance by working closely with HR teams to ensure data quality, protection, consistency and governance standards
- Establish and manage an internal quality and control framework to support effective process risk management across One HR
- Own knowledge management by maintaining the accuracy, relevance and compliance of HR manuals, SOPs and related documentation
- Lead the adoption of analytics, governance and data management practices across One HR through coaching, capability building and training
- Manage relationships with external professional bodies, industry associations, consulting firms and academic institutions to benchmark best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in relevant roles within an HR landscape
- Proven background in governance & compliance
- Experience in Project Management and business consultancy in operational supporting areas
- Experience managing a process, governance, or compliance or audit function within a large scale, complex organisation

Job Purpose

- As Governance & Compliance Manager, you will develop, manage and enhance Governance & Compliance practices across HR, leveraging industry best practice to drive consistency, effectiveness and continuous improvement.
In this role, you will:
- Manage process governance across the wider HR function by monitoring and assessing processes, identifying inefficiencies, and recommending innovative solutions, including AI, chatbots and Robotic Process Automation (RPA), to improve workflows, operations and employee performance. Standardise processes, lead associated change management activities, and ensure employee lifecycle processes remain GDPR compliant and aligned with international best practice.
- Proactively identify and recommend industry best practices for process governance, automation and continuous improvement. Assess and consolidate current and future process, technology and data requirements across One HR, and lead initiatives that enhance performance and growth while fostering a culture of autonomy, openness and lean agile continuous improvement.
- Define and implement the One HR process and data governance strategy in alignment with Emirates Group governance and compliance requirements, covering Data Protection (access, security and privacy), Data Quality Assurance, and Metadata Management.
- Manage data governance activities in partnership with ED&A and a network of Data Custodians and Data Stewards across One HR. Represent HR in ensuring people data is governed effectively and managed as a corporate asset across source systems and the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP). Collaborate across HR teams to implement data protection and quality requirements, and support decisions on metrics, KPIs and metadata standards.
- Remain current with industry trends in data governance and data management, and support the development of analytics self service capabilities across One HR.
- Manage data risk and compliance by working closely with HR teams, including Data & Analytics and Employee Data Management, to ensure data quality, protection, consistency and governance standards are maintained across all employee data.
- Establish and manage an internal quality and control framework to support effective process risk management across One HR. Evaluate risk profiles, promote awareness, implement controls and accountability measures, and continuously monitor and improve the effectiveness of internal controls.
- Own knowledge management by maintaining the accuracy, relevance and compliance of HR manuals, SOPs and related documentation. Work with Systems & Technology and Data & Analytics teams to ensure documentation reflects business requirements, system enhancements and process changes.
- Lead the adoption of analytics, governance and data management practices across One HR through coaching, capability building and training. This includes analytics power user development, systems training, process and SOP training, and data governance compliance practices.
- Manage relationships with external professional bodies, industry associations, consulting firms and academic institutions to benchmark best practices and identify opportunities to drive innovation, process improvement and operational excellence.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 8 years of experience in relevant roles within an HR landscape.
- Proven, applicable background in governance & compliance.
- Experience in Project Management and business consultancy in operational supporting areas.
- Experience managing a process, governance, or compliance or audit function within a large scale, complex organisation.
- You’ll have an edge if you have: Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies; Relevant certifications in governance and compliance (e.g. ISO); Experience in HR and/or the aviation industry.
