Job Description

  • A Hostess at Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre is the first point of contact for our restaurants and is responsible for serving guests in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner to ensure an excellent guest experience.
  • Your role is pivotal in upholding Forbes Five Star standards by anticipating guest needs, delivering exceptional and memorable experiences, and ensuring every guest feels valued, welcomed, and cared for throughout their visit.

Responsibilities

  • Extend a warm and genuine welcome to all guests arriving at the outlet.
  • Escort guests to their tables and present menus in a professional and engaging manner.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of menu offerings, promotions, and restaurant facilities.
  • Manage guest enquiries and requests in a friendly, timely, and professional manner.
  • Follow established reporting procedures and communicate operational concerns promptly.
  • Maintain impeccable grooming, personal presentation, and hygiene standards in accordance with Waldorf Astoria guidelines.
  • Answer telephone calls courteously and professionally, accurately recording and communicating messages where required.
  • Manage restaurant reservations, ensuring guest preferences, dietary requirements, allergies, and special occasions are accurately recorded and communicated to the team.
  • Coordinate closely with the restaurant team to ensure guest preferences and special requests are delivered seamlessly.
  • Engage with guests throughout their dining experience, anticipating needs and creating personalised, memorable moments.
  • Maintain an excellent understanding of the restaurant seating plan to optimise table allocation and guest flow.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in Arabic language skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role or in Food and Beverage department
  • Positive attitude
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Committed to delivering high levels of customer service
  • Excellent grooming standards
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
  • Ability to work on your own or in teams
  • Previous experience of cash handling
  • Knowledge of Food Hygiene Regulations
  • Flexibility to respond to a variety of different work situations
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel in Dubai
  • Knowledge of Forbes Five Star standards
