Health Safety Environment Officer

Job Purpose

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor BG Group HSE policies, procedures, and site safety requirements in accordance with UAE HSE laws and relevant authority regulations.
• Conduct site inspections, safety audits, and toolbox talks, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and closed on time.
• Prepare and monitor risk assessments, method statements, JSA/JHA, and RAMS for construction activities.
• Monitor high-risk work including work at height, lifting, scaffolding, excavation, hot work, electrical work, confined spaces, and site traffic.
• Maintain Permit-to-Work, PPE, housekeeping, access and egress, fire safety, and emergency preparedness requirements.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identify root causes, recommend preventive measures, and maintain HSE records.
• Monitor subcontractor and worker compliance and coordinate with site and project personnel to resolve safety issues.
• Implement emergency response procedures, evacuation plans, fire drills, safety awareness programs, inductions, and training.
• Monitor environmental controls for waste, dust, noise, chemical storage, spill prevention, and disposal.
• Prepare HSE reports and KPI updates, track corrective actions, and promote safety culture and continuous improvement.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum five years of HSE experience, preferably in UAE construction, Design & Build, Fit-Out, or Luxury Villa projects.
• Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and construction safety practices.
• Knowledge of Dubai authority requirements is required.
• NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent HSE certification is highly preferred.
• Strong communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of MS Office and HSE documentation.
• Valid UAE driving licence and own vehicle are mandatory.
