Job Purpose
The Head of Project Engineering (Offsite) is responsible for overseeing the engineering design and execution activities carried out by the EPC Contractor and its sub?contractors, ensuring that design quality, schedule, and budget requirements are met.
The role provides leadership and coordination between EPC and Project Management teams to ensure that detailed design deliverables are issued on time to support procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
The position also drives contractor performance through defined KPIs and ensures effective integration of engineering deliverables with other project functions to support overall project execution.
The Role Is Accountable For
- Seamless execution of all offsite project engineering activities
- Risk management, including identification, assessment, and mitigation planning
- Development and implementation of engineering execution strategies, including sequencing, prioritisation, and resourcing
Key Challenges Include
- Managing competing priorities and differing stakeholder expectations
- Securing and retaining suitably qualified engineering resources
- Managing large and complex scopes of work efficiently
- Coordinating multiple discipline and project interfaces
- Responding effectively to urgent or short?notice engineering support requests

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or relevant technical discipline
Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas industry
- Strong background in engineering management for major Oil & Gas projects, preferably including LNG facilities
- Experience leading multi?discipline engineering teams and contractor organisations
- Proven capability in design safety, risk assessment, and decision?making
- Experience managing EPC Contractors under lump?sum or similar commercial models
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all organisational levels
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across diverse cultural environments
- Field engineering experience is an advantage
Technical & Business Skills
- Discipline engineering background with experience in Project or Field Engineering roles
- Strong teamwork, facilitation, and leadership skills
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem?solving abilities
- Practical experience in risk management
