Role Overview

Strategy and Governance

• Develop and maintain aviation and non-aviation insurance strategy in line with group risk appetite.
• Lead the design, placement, and renewal of cost-effective insurance programmes.
• Provide strategic advice on risk retention, risk transfer, claims strategy, and insurance market developments.
• Embed insurance risk reporting within the Enterprise Risk Management framework.
• Strengthen governance over procurement, policy administration, broker and insurer relationships, and claims oversight.

Policy and Claims Management

• Manage end-to-end placement, renewal, and administration of group insurance policies.
• Coordinate claims notification, documentation, follow-up, and settlement with relevant internal and external parties.
• Maintain insurance records, policy schedules, certificates, premium data, and renewal trackers.
• Assess insurable exposures with business units and obtain underwriting information for placement and renewal.
• Monitor service delivery, policy compliance, premium payments, and claims progress.

Leadership and Reporting

• Lead, supervise, and develop insurance professionals and deputise for the Vice President when required.
• Prepare insurance programme updates, claims summaries, renewal recommendations, risk insights, and management reports.
• Maintain relationships with brokers, insurers, reinsurers, loss adjusters, consultants, and other service providers.
• Support annual operating plans, renewal priorities, and measurable departmental deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of job-related experience.
• ACII qualified or progressing toward ACII qualification.
• Experience in aviation, transport, logistics, or a complex multinational corporate environment.
• Extensive corporate, aviation, or complex commercial insurance experience.

Professional Experience

• Strong commercial acumen across risk protection, premium cost, claims recovery, and value-for-money outcomes.
• Ability to work confidently with senior Finance, Legal, Procurement, Risk, Operations, and external insurance stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of insurance analytics, exposure data, benchmarking, claims trends, and management information.
• Experience leading and developing insurance professionals, including performance management, coaching, succession planning, and quality assurance.
• Experience managing brokers, insurers, reinsurers, loss adjusters, consultants, and other third-party suppliers.
• Experience preparing executive-level insurance reports, renewal recommendations, claims briefings, and risk insights.
