Role overview

The Head of Events plans and manages events for the organization.

The role leads event strategy, production, logistics, execution, team delivery, and operational reporting.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop long-term event strategies and plans aligned with organizational objectives and brand identity.
  • Conceptualize, plan, and oversee event production within timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Support the development of SOPs, policies, and event formats and ensure adherence to established processes.
  • Execute project plans for community-related, national-level, and corporate events.
  • Manage venue selection, entertainment, programs, invitations, guest lists, catering, audiovisual services, media, webcasting, photography, security, signage, messaging, documentation, and gifts.
  • Oversee event execution, venue reservations, and technical setups.
  • Coordinate with communications and internal units to secure manpower and resources.
  • Manage internal and external event stakeholder relationships.
  • Lead the assigned team and provide guidance for project delivery.
  • Track event requests, follow up on outstanding tasks, and submit monthly information reports.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations using qualitative and quantitative metrics.
  • Ensure legal, regulatory, and organizational compliance and support internal audits and corrective actions.

Education and experience

  • A bachelor's degree in Event Management, Communications, Marketing, Business Management, or a related field is required.
  • The role requires 6-8 years of relevant full-time work experience, including 2 years in event, initiative, or program leadership within a large organization.
  • Experience in strategy development, business planning, budgeting, and quality management is required.
  • Knowledge of analysis, concept development, change management, coaching, mentoring, performance control, data assessment, interpretation, and reporting practices is required.

Required skills

  • Strong interpersonal communication, presentation, conflict resolution, teamwork, customer service, and negotiation skills are required.
  • Excellent speaking and writing skills are required for reports and other communications.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications is required.
  • Arabic proficiency is preferred.

Planning and reporting

  • Collaborate with the Manager on annual business plans, KPIs, scorecards, and departmental budgets.
  • Provide regular progress reports and outcome analyses for senior management review.
  • Perform other reasonable tasks assigned by the supervisor.
