Group Finance Manager – Contracting & Construction

Role Overview

Group Finance Management

• Oversee the Group's finance and accounting functions, controls, procedures, and reporting systems.
• Supervise finance and accounting teams across business divisions.
• Review management accounts, financial statements, project performance, and Group financial performance.
• Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to senior management.

Contract and Project Finance

• Review construction and contracting agreements, payment terms, advances, retention, liquidated damages, warranties, guarantees, and other financial obligations.
• Monitor variations, claims, back charges, deductions, additional works, billing, collections, retention, advances, and outstanding contractual amounts.
• Establish project budgets, cost codes, cost centers, and financial controls, and analyze costs, commitments, accruals, forecasts, and profitability.
• Prepare cost-to-complete and estimated final cost reports and identify margin erosion, cost overruns, and financial risks.

Banking and Cash Flow

• Manage Letters of Credit, including issuance, documentation, terms, amendments, discrepancies, bank charges, exposure, commitments, and records.
• Manage performance, advance payment, retention, bid or tender, and other bank guarantees, including renewals, extensions, releases, and registers.
• Develop cash-flow forecasts and manage working capital, liquidity, collections, supplier payments, subcontractor payments, advances, retention, and receivables.

Budgeting and Reporting

• Lead annual budgets, business plans, project and departmental forecasts, variance analysis, cost-to-complete projections, and financial scenarios.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and Group MIS dashboards covering profitability, costs, cash flow, working capital, commitments, and forecasts.

Tax, Audit and Compliance

• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, IFRS, UAE regulations, statutory requirements, and financial recordkeeping standards.
• Coordinate external auditors and manage the annual audit process while strengthening internal controls and reducing financial and operational risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CA, ACCA, CMA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification is strongly preferred.
• 15–18 years of finance and accounting experience, including mandatory UAE contracting or construction experience.
• Senior finance management experience in a contracting or project-based organization.
• Hands-on experience with construction finance, contracts, project cost control, project costing, profitability, LCs, bank guarantees, cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, variations, claims, retention, advances, and cost-to-complete.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, financial analysis, ERP, leadership, commercial, negotiation, communication, and decision-making skills.

Workplace and Compensation

• Work location is in person in Dubai, UAE.
• Compensation is AED 14,000–16,000 per month.
