Planning & Cost Control Engineer – Façade, Aluminum & Steel / Metal Works

Role Overview

Workplace and Employment

• The role is full-time and based in Dubai, UAE.
• Work location is in person.

Project Planning and Scheduling

• Develop and update detailed schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent software.
• Prepare baseline programs, execution schedules, manpower plans, material schedules, and procurement schedules.
• Monitor planned versus actual progress, delays, critical activities, schedule risks, and corrective actions.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, look-ahead schedules, recovery programs, and management reports.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, production, procurement, estimation, quantity surveying, and other departments.

Cost Control and Performance

• Monitor project costs against approved budgets and track material, manpower, subcontractor, equipment, logistics, and related costs.
• Prepare cost forecasts, cash-flow projections, cost-to-complete reports, and financial performance reports.
• Analyze productivity, resource utilization, planned value, earned value, actual cost, CPI, SPI, and other project KPIs.
• Review BOQs, quantities, budgets, variations, claims, back charges, and additional works for schedule and financial impact.
• Maintain accurate records of budgets, commitments, actual costs, forecasts, variations, and cost-to-complete.

Project Close-Out

• Assist with project close-out by reviewing final costs, outstanding commitments, variations, and overall financial performance.
• Prepare final cost analysis and lessons-learned reports.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Three to seven years of relevant experience in construction planning and cost control.
• Strong practical knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
• Experience preparing planning and cost-control reports, with knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing, productivity, and resource planning.
• Strong MS Excel skills, knowledge of Earned Value Management, and ability to analyze delays, cost deviations, productivity issues, and project risks.
• Experience in façade, aluminum, architectural metal, steel, glazing, or similar construction works is highly preferred.
• UAE construction experience and a UAE driving license are preferred.
