Find out more at defencehealth.com.au The Role As the Functional Test Lead, you will oversee test strategy, planning, execution, defect management and quality assurance processes for complex software initiatives. Working closely with business and technical stakeholders, you will champion testing best practice, support continuous improvement of the SDLC, and help manage delivery risk through effective quality management. Key responsibilities
Lead and coordinate functional testing activities across projects, enhancements and releases
Develop and maintain test strategies, test plans, test cases and testing schedules.
Oversee test execution, defect triage, prioritisation, reporting and root cause analysis coordination.
Work with business analysts, developers, project managers, architects and SMEs to ensure strong requirements coverage and quality outcomes.
Support test automation practices and contribute to the effective use of automation frameworks and tools.Manage workload allocation, provide day-to-day guidance to testers, and mentor team members to build capability.

8+ years’ experience in software testing, including at least 3 years in a test leadership or coordination role.
Experience working within private health insurance is highly advantageous
Proven experience designing and executing test strategies, plans and cases for complex software systems.
Demonstrated experience incorporating AI tools and practices into delivery and quality assurance processes to improve efficiency, test effectiveness, risk identification, and overall delivery outcomes.
Strong understanding of SDLC and testing methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery models.
Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira or TestRail.
Familiarity with automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Cypress or Appium.
