Full-stack Engineer (AI-native)

Role Overview

Product Delivery

• Build full-stack features with React, Next.js, Node.js, NestJS, APIs, and data models.
• Maintain RESTful integrations with card issuing, banking, ERP, accounting, and other third-party providers.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and explain trade-offs to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Write tested, documented code, resolve production issues, and participate in on-call and incident response.
• Meet security, privacy, and compliance obligations for authentication, authorization, payments, cardholder data, and PII.
• Improve development processes, tooling, and CI/CD pipelines.

AI-Assisted Delivery

• Use agentic coding tools to decompose work, define specifications and tests, and guide implementation.
• Review, test, and harden AI-generated code before production; remain accountable for every line shipped.
• Maintain repository instructions, reusable prompts, MCP connections, and current architecture documentation.
• Share effective workflows and help establish standards for safe and effective AI-assisted development.

AI Product Capabilities

• Build AI-powered product capabilities with providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or AWS Bedrock.
• Implement retrieval, tool calling, evaluation harnesses, cost and latency budgets, and safeguards against prompt injection and data leakage.

Core Engineering Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of experience building and running production web applications as a full-stack engineer.
• Experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, NestJS, TypeORM, PostgreSQL, and a NoSQL store.
• Experience with AWS, containerized services, CI/CD, automated testing, production observability, RESTful APIs, microservices, and API gateways.
• Strong software design and secure coding knowledge for systems handling financial and personal data.

AI Engineering Requirements

• Daily production use of an agentic coding tool such as Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, or an equivalent.
• Ability to provide agents with specifications, constraints, examples, and repository context and identify unsuitable agent tasks.
• Strong verification discipline using tests, small reviewable commits, checkpointing, rollback, and human review.
• Awareness of AI-generated code failure modes and controls including static analysis, dependency scanning, secret scanning, and review gates.
• Clear understanding of data-handling boundaries for third-party models in systems handling cardholder and financial data.

Preferred Qualifications

• Production integration experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, or similar LLM APIs.
• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation, vector search, structured outputs, tool calling, or LLM evaluation.
• Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications and mitigations for prompt injection and sensitive information disclosure.
• Experience in fintech, payments, or another regulated domain such as PCI DSS or SOC 2 environments.
