Overview
To work closely together with the supervisor, manager and the project team to ensure that all assigned projects are executed safely, on time, and within budget in accordance with the contract and International Maritime Industries Management System (IMIMS).
The candidate must be able to collaborate with other departments and communicate results and concerns to the project management team.
Works under pressure and drives a group to completion against aggressive timelines and work scopes.
1.
Ensure all assigned works are executed safely on time.
2.
Ensure that all technical drawings and documentation, such as nesting drawing, production drawing and marking are followed.
3.
Determine the appropriate cutting equipment or method based on requirements.
4.
Ensure possession of a valid work permit (Hot/Cold/Isolation, etc.) before engaging in any activity.
5.
Attend safety and daily toolbox meetings and under the risk involved with the job.
6.
Perform the cutting according to the operating manual and follow the drawings.
7.
Monitor materials usage to ensure possible shortages are identified and addressed at the earliest possible opportunity.
8.
Follow cutting preparations and examine finished cutting and ensure they meet standards for excellence.
9.
Inspect the equipment and tools they use while performing their job and maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
10.
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Security (HSES) responsibilities.
Education: Technical Diploma or equivalent qualification
Competencies: Familiar with the common cutting types: CNC auto cutting (Plasma & Gas cutting), IK-12 & Beaver manual cutting and marking
Knowledge of G-code & M-code (EIA) and programming
Experience in using electrical or manual tools.
Inspecting materials, cutting equipment and tools.
Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (such as face- shield, gloves etc.,)
Understanding of various cutting processes, nesting drawing, production drawing, as well as cutting and grinding and bending operations.
Good oral communication skills in English.
Experience
- At least 12 years’ experience in Offshore Oil and Gas Construction or Shipyard/Ship repair Industry.
