Job Overview

Develop and maintain FPGA firmware for advanced radar systems.

The role focuses on Digital Transceiver Modules, embedded microcontroller integration, high-speed digital interfaces, radar signal chains, and real-time control logic.

FPGA and Radar Development

  • Design and implement FPGA firmware for radar transmit and receive processing chains.
  • Develop RTL using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog for high-performance real-time applications.
  • Build and integrate Digital Transceiver Modules for transmit and receive path control, conversion, synchronization, and high-speed data handling.
  • Interface FPGA systems with ADCs, DACs, RF transceivers, mixers, and timing circuits.
  • Develop logic for data framing, buffering, timing, trigger generation, PRI/PRF control, pulse shaping, and waveform sequencing.

Integration and Verification

  • Integrate FPGA systems with embedded microcontrollers for configuration, telemetry, calibration, and health monitoring.
  • Implement SPI, UART, I2C, JESD204B/C, LVDS, and Ethernet communication interfaces.
  • Support clocking architecture, synchronization, and deterministic latency.
  • Perform simulation, verification, timing closure, and hardware debugging.
  • Collaborate with RF, DSP, and software teams on system-level integration.

Experience and Technical Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in firmware, embedded systems, or FPGA solution development for military or defense-related clients.
  • Solid knowledge of radar digital architecture and signal flow.
  • Strong experience with Xilinx or Intel/Altera FPGA platforms.
  • Proficiency in VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
  • Strong understanding of Digital Transceiver Modules architecture and implementation.
  • Experience with high-speed serial interfaces and real-time streaming architectures.

Embedded and RF Requirements

  • Experience interfacing FPGA systems with microcontrollers such as STM32 or ARM Cortex devices.
  • Experience with clock domain crossing, reset synchronization, and timing analysis.
  • Familiarity with ADC/DAC data capture and RF control.
