Burns & McDonnell India invites Fire Protection Engineer to join our dynamic team and advance their careers within an organization known for its exceptional culture and values.

As part of our Global Facilities practice, you'll be immersed in a multi-disciplinary team delivering engineering services for diverse facility projects across North America.

Our portfolio spans hyperscale data centers, food & consumer products, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, healthcare, manufacturing, airports, and institutional facilities.

Key Responsibilities

o Capture client requirements and if needed, advise them regarding fire protection systems/requirements available to meet their needs and comply with applicable codes and standard. o Responsible for the design and specification of fire suppression systems including wet-pipe, dry-pipe, pre-action, deluge, fire pumps, and storage tanks on a wide variety of project types. Knowledge of special systems such as foam, spray, mist, clean agent, wet/dry chemical, and carbon dioxide is preferred. o Responsible for the design and specification of fire alarm systems, mass notification systems, and releasing systems. Knowledge of manual, electric, and pneumatic releasing, as well as cross-zoning and flame detection is preferred. o Perform hydraulic calculations and work with outside resources to incorporate special hazard systems. o Coordinate with other disciplines, clients and other stake holders to develop a clash free system design. o Responsible to manage the assigned scope within agreed schedule and budget. o Coordinate with a team of engineers and designers working on a project. o Willing to advance in career by taking increased responsibilities on projects and organization. o A committed team player able to work on own initiative. o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. o Good communication skills (verbal & written) and ability to self-check and produce accurate work. o Review contractor shop drawings, field inspections, and testing and commissioning reports.

Tools: o Navisworks, SprinkCAD, KY Pipe, AutoCAD, Smartplant 3D, Revit o Knowledge of AutoPipe, Autocad plant 3D will be an added advantage. o Microsoft Office Tools – MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, Outlook, OneNote.

o Bachelor’s degree in Fire/mechanical engineering or related engineering field from a recognized institution. o Minimum 2 to 6 years of working experience in fire protection design. o Working knowledge of international codes and standards (NFPA, International Fire Code, International Building Code, American Petroleum Institute, etc.) applicable for industrial facilities, manufacturing, fueling, and commercial projects.
