Role Overview

Burns & McDonnell India is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for its Oil, Gas & Chemical global practice.

The role delivers complex projects and may progress toward project execution leadership or knowledge leadership in the CSA department.

Responsibilities

  • Execute project activities against safety, quality, budget, and schedule KPIs.
  • Serve as Lead or Area Lead Engineer for small-scale projects and provide technical direction.
  • Develop project execution, quality control, cost, and resource planning artifacts.
  • Manage project controls including scheduling, progress, change, risk, and resources.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers.
  • Coordinate disciplines, battery limits, tie-ins, and inter-unit dependencies.
  • Perform structural calculations and prepare models, drawings, and engineering deliverables.
  • Design pipe racks, technological structures, and heavy equipment foundations.
  • Review geotechnical reports, vendor documents, fabrication drawings, and design inputs.
  • Conduct design and constructability reviews and resolve site queries and RFIs.
  • Execute brownfield field verification, tie-in design, laser scan integration, and as-built alignment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Five to 10 years of experience in Oil, Gas & Chemical project engineering.
  • Proficiency with STAAD, RISA, and RAM structural analysis and design software.
  • Knowledge of concrete and structural steel design, fabrication methods, and construction practices.
  • Knowledge of ACI, ASCE, AISC, and PIP international codes and regulations.
  • Experience interpreting laser scans and conducting field site surveys.
  • Understanding of CSA processes, deliverables, project execution plans, and Project Quality Management.
  • Strong technical writing and English communication skills.
  • Capability to lead a small team of approximately five engineers.
