Position Summary

The Financial Analyst supports the Middle East and Africa LNG Business Unit with financial reporting, variance analysis, forecasting, compliance, and business partnering.

The role provides timely financial insights for decision-making while supporting local and corporate reporting, planning, process, and control standards.

Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting activities.
  • Prepare and analyze income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow variances.
  • Ensure internal financial reports are accurate, complete, and timely.
  • Analyze financial performance and underlying business drivers.
  • Present financial information, trends, and insights to the Regional Finance Manager and Leadership Team.

Planning and Forecasting

  • Support business unit planning and forecasting activities.
  • Coordinate with asset and functional teams to develop and consolidate long-range plans, annual budgets, monthly outlooks, and forecasts.
  • Contribute analysis and recommendations to strategic planning initiatives.
  • Evaluate business performance against plans, forecasts, and budgets.

Business Support and Compliance

  • Respond to financial and operational inquiries from management and key stakeholders.
  • Provide analytical support for local management business decisions.
  • Help stakeholders understand financial results, trends, projections, and business impacts.
  • Coordinate corporate tax reporting requests and support internal and external financial audits.
  • Participate in SOX documentation and compliance efforts and maintain internal controls.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Develop effective working relationships with internal finance stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across functions to support financial deliverables and business objectives.
  • Provide broader support to the business unit finance function as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, business, or a related discipline is required, and foreign equivalent qualifications are accepted.
  • At least five years of finance experience is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting practices is required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications is required.
  • Strong analytical and financial reporting capabilities are required.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience developing and building financial models is highly regarded.
  • Exposure to SAP or similar enterprise accounting systems is highly regarded.
  • At least five years of finance experience within the oil and gas industry is highly regarded.
