The employer is seeking an accomplished Finance Manager for country operations in main contracting, construction, or EPC.
The international assignment may be based in Kenya, Rwanda, or South Africa.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the full finance and accounting function for assigned country operations.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, financial reporting, and management reporting.
- Monitor project costs, profitability, margins, commitments, variations, claims, retention, and work in progress.
- Ensure project revenue recognition and compliance with IFRS, particularly IFRS 15.
- Oversee payables, receivables, collections, supplier payments, payroll controls, banking facilities, letters of credit, bonds, and guarantees.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, profitability reports, cash flow forecasts, and executive reports.
- Strengthen controls, financial policies, approval authorities, and audit readiness.
- Manage statutory reporting, tax compliance, audits, and relationships with financial and regulatory stakeholders.
- Partner with project, commercial, procurement, and operations teams to improve financial performance.
- Lead, develop, and supervise the country finance team.
Required qualifications and experience
- Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- CPA, ACCA, CMA, CA, or equivalent professional qualification is strongly preferred.
- At least 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
- At least 5 years of finance leadership or managerial experience.
- Main contractor, EPC contractor, or major construction company experience is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of project accounting, cost control, cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and contract financial management.
- Sound understanding of IFRS, financial controls, audit requirements, and statutory compliance.
- Experience managing multi-project operations and reporting to executive or group management.
- Strong ERP and advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
- Excellent written and spoken English; French is advantageous for Rwanda-based operations.
- International, African, or emerging-market experience is strongly preferred.
Mobility requirement
- The selected candidate must be willing and able to relocate to Kenya, Rwanda, or South Africa, subject to the final assignment location, work permit approval, and immigration requirements.
