Job Overview
The Field Engineer applies conceptual field experience with moderate guidance to solve straightforward field and yard issues.
The role analyzes possible solutions using company procedures, technical experience, judgment, and precedents.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure work complies with quality, health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Travel offshore for job execution and work at onshore sites as required.
- Recommend changes to technical details and drawings to improve safe operations and clarify installation procedures.
- Develop vessel layouts and barge loadout plans for transporting materials, equipment, and structures offshore.
- Participate in constructability sessions, readiness reviews, hazard identification studies, and job safety analyses.
- Review project drawings and documents and report discrepancies, errors, and omissions.
- Ensure work remains within the capabilities of the proposed equipment.
- Prepare offshore installation procedures covering methods, sequences, installation aids, temporary works, and consumables.
- Prepare material lists and liaise with the project coordinator on procurement.
- Issue loadout lists and inspect pre-rigging, loadouts, and sea fastening.
- Coordinate with production engineers to verify loadouts of fabricated items.
- Coordinate with logistics teams on cargo movements by ship, barge, or truck.
